Little Angels – Angelitos
Angelitos or Little Angels, is set in Mexico, where two young boys named Daniel and Ivan — her son’s names — go to live with their grandmother. Delicately drawn and painted in brilliant colors, the book uses simple rhymes and authentic details like houses with adobe walls to teach not only the language, but also to show the “real, rustic life of Mexico.” -Esther Pan, Anchorage Daily News
Angelitos, delicately drawn illustrations, combined with the artist’s beautiful verse, create a wonderful day in the lives of two little boys and their grandmother. Ms. Echeverri’s multi-cultural background creates a wonderful story for classroom use. Her light lyrical drawings appeal to the child in us all and complement the writing with their beautiful, brilliant colors and compositions. This story will be enjoyed by everyone. It is a great book to read to children. -Hugh McPeck, Professor of Art, University of Alaska
