About the Author
Mary Lister is a freelance storyteller and puppeteer. Passionate about the power of stories, she is actively involved with inner-city reading schemes and has performed in theatres, art galleries, museums and schools worldwide. She often uses puppets in her performances and also organises a yearly puppetry and animation festival. Mary lives and works in Yorkshire. Diana Mayo graduated from Kingston University with a BA in Graphic Design and Illustration in 1990. Since then she has worked as a freelance illustrator for Heinemann, Scholastic and W. H. Smith, to name a few. She draws her inspiration from folk tales, myths and ‘trivia’ myths from around the world and revels in strong detail and colour. The Summer Queen and Winter King is Diana’s second work for Barefoot Books, following her first title, The House that Jack Built (2001). Diana lives and works in Clarkenwell, London.
