In seventeenth-century Rome, fifteen-year-old Marco is bored with working at his father’s shoe shop, Marco goes in search of something more, convinces a talented sculptor to have him as his apprentice, and, soon after, begins to develop his art and create a glorious work of art.
About the Author
Taylor Morrison was born in Kansa and grew up in Illinois. He is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. In doing research for this book, Mr. Morrison traveled to Carrara, Italy, where he visited Luigi Corsanini’s sculpture workshop as well as the renowned Carrara marble quarries. The Neptune Fountain is a companion to his first book, Antonio’s Apprenticeship: Painting a Fresco in Renaissance Italy. Mr. Morrison lives in Meriden, Connecticut.
