About the Author

Dr. Gerbert Grohmann (June 5, 1897- July 23,1957) was an Anthroposophically trained botanist. He is the author of The Plant, Volumes 1 and 2 (Biodynamic Farming and Gardening Association). He was a Waldorf teacher as well as a scientist and devoted his life to understanding nature through the philosophical insights of Rudolf Steiner and Anthroposophy. He wrote The Living World of Plants for the students in the Waldorf school to make his scientific knowledge transparent to the students there.
