Little Star

A little star finds himself lost in the earth world. He meets friends and experiences many happy times, but of course, there are both ups and downs in our world. When a challenge arises, the little lost star runs away in confusion, sorrow and regret.

The forest itself helps to restore him. The sun shining down in quiet beauty helps him as well. Unseen beings try to help, and through his own effort to calm himself by breathing he is able to receive help. He comes to remember how he got lost and where he belongs. He wants to correct his mistake and fulfill his promise to go back to the Sky World where he belongs. As he surrenders to his task he  experiences something totally unexpected, the magic of inner light. This is the birth of a whole new beginning which will change his life entirely.

This is an engaging story with many possibilities for meaningful conversation about feelings, and many opportunities for developing emotional intelligence. The forest, is a great healer. And much help lies within us in the unseen parts of ourselves – we can access inner resources of love, strength and possibilities. A feeling of connection and happiness lives inside us in the deepest core of our being. An attitude of gratefulness to all lifeforms – both seen and unseen – that create abundance and joy on our planet is an important part of the story. A beautifully illustrated Waldorf-inspired book in which we meet helpful but unseen life-forms in the narrative.

Enjoy adventuring, both inwardly and outwardly!

About the Author

Lila Strand grew up in Norway, where a childhood immersed in nature fostered in her a deep sense of wonder and an early yearning to understand the spiritual dimension behind the visible world. Much of her youth was spent exploring the natural landscape in solitude, an experience that awakened a lifelong inner journey and a search for connectedness with the whole of life. Her love of books began early, especially through the illustrations of Elsa Beskow, whose imagery inspired Strand’s own artistic sensibility. After a lifetime devoted to teaching young children, she turned in retirement to writing and illustrating children’s books. Her first book, The Star Children, reflects her reverence for nature, imagination, and the inner life of the child, themes she continues to explore in her ongoing work.
