Rudolf Steiner Bookstore is a program of the Center for Anthroposophical Endeavors (CFAE), P.O. Box 251, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043. This policy explains what we collect when you use rudolfsteinerbookstore.com, why, and who helps us handle it.
What we collect
- Orders: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone, and what you bought.
- Payments: handled by Stripe and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
- Donations: the amount, the fund you chose, and the details needed to send your receipt and thank-you. We do not share donor details with the organizations the Resources Fund supports. Your name is shown publicly only if you ask to be recognized, for example as the sponsor of a school’s store.
- Account: if you create one, your login, order history and donation history.
- Email: if you subscribe, your email address and which emails you open or click.
- Site use: pages visited, device and browser, collected through analytics tools (below).
Who helps us
Each receives only what it needs for its task.
- Payments: Stripe, PayPal
- Shipping: ShipStation, USPS (Stamps.com), UPS. For items sent directly from a publisher or maker, the publisher or maker receives your name and shipping address.
- Order and inventory records: Zoho Inventory. Accounting: QuickBooks
- Email: our store email system, sent through Amazon Web Services
- Site analytics: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (which records anonymized page interactions to help us fix usability problems)
- Security and spam protection: Cloudflare, Sucuri, Akismet
- Reviews: if you leave a product review, your name and review are shown on the product page
- School referrals: if you arrive through a school’s link, a cookie records the referral so the school’s share can be counted
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files your browser stores for a website. We use them for:
- Running the store: keeping your cart, login and checkout working, and protecting forms from spam (Cloudflare). These are needed for the site to work.
- Payments: Stripe and PayPal set their own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud.
- School referrals: if you arrive through a school’s link, a cookie records it so the school’s share can be counted.
- Analytics: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity tell us which pages are used and where people get stuck, so we can improve the site. We don’t use them for advertising profiles.
Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The cart and checkout won’t work without the essential ones. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
Payment security
- Every page of our site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
- Card details are entered into Stripe’s or PayPal’s secure payment fields and go directly to them. We never see or store your full card number.
- Stripe and PayPal are certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the highest security standard of the card industry.
- If you notice a charge from us you don’t recognize, contact us right away at [email protected].
How long we keep it
Order and donation records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can ask us to delete your account and email subscription at any time.
Your rights
Unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom. To see, correct or delete your information, email [email protected].
Children
The store is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
We never sell your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
