This is the special edition (extended) – now includes festival activities at the end of the story.
One morning, when Michael follows a path he doesn’t recognize, he meets a dragon—completely unprepared. He carries no sword or shield—just an acorn, a teacup, and an invisible friend name Merriwig.
Through cleverness, kindness, and a few unexpected gifts, Michael begins to understand that courage doesn’t always look the way stories say it should. Sometimes it is friendly. Sometimes it tells a joke. And sometimes it shows up, even when your knees are shaking.
This is a warm tale about meeting fear with bravery and imagination. Told with simple humor this read-aloud tale is perfect for Michaelmas—or any moment a child is growing in their own courage.
