Plays for Grades One through Four
These plays for classes of children in the early elementary grades are based on the Waldorf curriculum material: fairy tales in first grade, saint legends for second grade, Old Testament for third grade, and Norse mythology for fourth grade. The plays are written in verse which facilitates memorization. Each play has parts for individual characters and a chorus to include an entire class in speaking parts. Often the whole class will learn the entire play and children will be assigned different parts for different presentations to give several of them opportunities to play leading roles.
