So That You May Be One: From the Visions of Joa Bolendas
In the spring of 1957, Joa Bolendas, a mother and pastor’s wife living in Switzerland, began to experience a series of visions and conversations with spiritual beings. Now available for the first time in English, this astonishing book records these conversations, which took place from 1957 to 1990, in simple, descriptive language, unembellished by interpretation. Excerpts from her journal describe the personal struggle of handling the profound information that came to her. The messages that emerge from the visions about important theological themes, such as the Grail, the rosary, icons, and the Old and New Testaments, ultimately urge us toward a new unity of the churches, of the forces within each individual, and of the peoples of the world.
Excerpts from her journals, which describe her struggle to understand her experiences, and a selection of the music — the Vision songs — that she received while in prayer are also included.
About the Author
Joa Bolendas, now in her eighties, is a contemporary Swiss visionary and down-to-earth mystic, in the mold of Hildegard of Bingen, who has had visions of spiritual beings since the 1950s. She grew up like any normal child, but it soon became evident that she had psychic gifts. With her confirmation into the Protestant church, she became aware of God guiding her and began to have important dreams. The first visions concerned the unity of the Churches. The heavenly beings who came to her also spoke to her of the state of the world -ecological, geopolitical, and social -and asked her to pray. And so Joa undertook great prayer battles for the future of humanity and the earth. These became known -no one knows how- and occasionally foreign governments would consult with her. She continued to live simply, while deepening her devotion to God and the world through profound prayer. In more recent years her visions expanded to include revelations relating to the meaning of life on both sides of the threshold. Joa Bolendas still goes weekly to various neighborhood churches to pray, and she still receives visions whose range and depth continue to expand.
