Cymatics was brought to light as a new avenue of scientific enquiry by Hans Jenny. Hans Jenny was engaged in investigating his initial question of the morphological formation processes of living organic forms when he died in 1972. Jenny – researcher, physician, painter and family man – left a host of drawings behind that delve deep into revealing the structures of Nature in their essence.

This book would now wish to continue the path of cymatics by examining the original impulse of the entire world – the word – in respect of the larynx such that we are able to construct a new phenomenal relationship and thus a new relationship with the word. The word is given form by tone; and so a new understanding of music is required.

About the Author

Atmani founded the House of Singing in Hirschhorn, Germany, 25 years ago with a deep commitment to exploring and developing the human voice. His work is rooted in Anthroposophy and has led to numerous research and training programs. A pivotal moment came in 1990 when Jürgen Schriefer invited him to live in his home, introducing him to the teachings of Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström and providing deep insights into her work. Atmani studied composition and harmony at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and holds a Waldorf teaching diploma. As the driving force behind the Orphideum, he inspires renewal in art, science, medicine, and therapy. A dedicated teacher, author, composer, and artist, he has given countless lectures and created numerous works. His pioneering research in cymatics led to the development of the Lautsänger, a groundbreaking device that reproduces music and speech with unmatched clarity. He also designs technologies that harness electromagnetic forces for more human centric applications.
