The Music of the Spheres: A Musical

This musical for middle-school students is a delightful adaptation of a scene from the life of Johannes Kepler. It is valuable for all teachers preparing the biographies of Kepler and Tycho de Brahe.

About the Author

John Trevillion was born in England and educated in Canada and the United States. He has taught in Waldorf schools since 1982, primarily as a “closer” (baseball expression) of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes at the Detroit Waldorf School. He teaches at the Chicago Waldorf School and supports the middle-grade class teachers as a mentor, as well as teaching occasional blocks (including an annual astronomy block to the sixth grade) and math tracks. He also teaches high school history and English. In that capacity he has devoted considerable time researching the scientific revolution of our epoch and its impact on the evolution of consciousness.

Merwin Lewis holds a B.A. in Music and Masters in both Music Composition and Library Science, the latter from Indiana University, Indiana. Arriving in London, Ontario, in 1971, he was a Music Reference Librarian and head of the Music Library at the University of Western Ontario until he became a class teacher at the London Waldorf School in 1987. Merwin has written many musical compositions including five major works for musical theater, and has published three books of songs.
