In this complementary book to Old Testament Studies, Frieling begins by looking at the nature of the gospels, and the accounts of healings contained in them. With close attention to the details of the New Testament texts he illuminates the events of Christ’s life, and shows how the gospels can be directly related to the events and problems of everyday life.
He concludes with a consideration of agape, the divine love in the Gospel of St John.
About the Author
Rudolf Frieling (1901-86) was one of the founders of The Christian Community. Before becoming the leader of this movement for religious renewal in 1957, his work took him to Leipzig, Vienna, New York and Stuttgart. He is the author of many books on Christian thinking.
