Arts and Art History
The visual arts and crafts curriculum in the Waldorf school will be reviewed and characterized, particularly from grades 6-12. Depending on the background and needs of the course participants, representative and relevant artistic exercises will be taken up in class. In this first year, practices may include clay modeling or sculpture, form drawing, and/or a variety of drawing techniques using pencil, ink, or compressed charcoal. We will also discuss the role of the teacher and the best methods for success in the classroom, including the acquiring of practical-artistic skills and the all-important need for inner self-development.
