Christmas in the Forest is a large, reusable Advent calendar illustrated by Almut Hewel. Each day a slide-in animal joins the dwarf beneath the Christmas tree, until on Christmas Eve the grotto opens on the Holy Family, and it can be set up again every year.

Christmas in the Forest: Large Advent Calendar

This calendar has no doors to tear: it is used again and again, year after year. Slide-in animal figures join the dwarf one by one, until all the animals of the forest have gathered around the Christmas tree. Then the dwarf and the tree give way to the grotto for Mary and Joseph; on December 23 a star appears above it, and on December 24 the full picture of the Holy Family is revealed.
