MysTech First Course Study Guidebook

Lectures by Rudolf Steiner: Selected and Arranged by Andrew Linnell

This book is intended to guide a student or a study group through an introduction to Mechanical Occultism. It contains numerous excerpts from lectures by Rudolf Steiner with leading questions to stimulate thought and group discussion. This study guidebook overviews Steiner’s picture of the next 4 to 6 thousand years and the spiritual beings involved in preparing this future such as our Ahrimanic double. A future mechanical occultism will use human vibrations and emanations. We will study how these might carry moral impulses into specially tuned machines. Other topics include the Tau, morality and love in humanity’s future. MysTech intends to cultivate the ground both in the human soul and in industry whereby a healthy Man-Machine relationship can be realized.

Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925) was born in the small village of Kraljevec, Austro-Hungarian Empire (now in Croatia), where he grew up. As a young man, he lived in Weimar and Berlin, where he became a well-published scientific, literary, and philosophical scholar, known especially for his work with Goethe’s scientific writings. At the beginning of the twentieth century, he began to develop his early philosophical principles into an approach to systematic research into psychological and spiritual phenomena. Formally beginning his spiritual teaching career under the auspices of the Theosophical Society, Steiner came to use the term Anthroposophy (and spiritual science) for his philosophy, spiritual research, and findings. The influence of Steiner’s multifaceted genius has led to innovative and holistic approaches in medicine, various therapies, philosophy, religious renewal, Waldorf education, education for special needs, threefold economics, biodynamic agriculture, Goethean science, architecture, and the arts of drama, speech, and eurythmy. In 1924, Rudolf Steiner founded the General Anthroposophical Society, which today has branches throughout the world. He died in Dornach, Switzerland.

I havent finished reading the book….Im on session 5 now…the content is the result of hard work , I can tell…because although you may think it is mostly a collection of quotes from R. Steiner, the sense or meaning and insights from the different quotes lead to something.
Im taking up the book with two other people, for 12 – 13 sessions, but I hope to read the book again at a slower pace , and really look at the questions at the end of each session — so I can feel more its insights about technology .
