Spring and Summer Nature Activities for Waldorf Kindergartens
Spring and Summer Nature Activities for Waldorf Kindergartens is a wonderful companion for any early-years setting that wants to bring children into living contact with the seasons. Irmgard Kutsch and Brigitte Walden gather a generous range of spring and summer projects — building bird boxes, using plant dyes, making earthworm boxes, growing and cooking fresh herbs, creating Easter bowls, and caring for butterflies — each one drawing young children outward into the natural world through their hands and senses.
What distinguishes this volume from the authors’ family-oriented titles is its depth of support for the teacher. Beyond the activities themselves, it offers valuable background reading and practical advice — including guidance on how to create and tend your own kindergarten garden — making it as much a professional handbook as an activity book. Every project is fully tried and tested, grown from years of daily work at the Children’s Nature and Garden Centre in Germany. For Waldorf educators, parents, and anyone shaping a young child’s first relationship with nature, it is a deep and trustworthy resource.
