Advent Calendars

Advent calendars mark the twenty-four days before Christmas with daily moments of anticipation and beauty, and this collection of roughly 65 calendars reflects the reverence for seasonal rhythm that distinguishes Waldorf and anthroposophical family traditions. Rather than chocolate-filled commercial countdowns, these calendars feature fine illustration, handcrafted elements, and stories that deepen a child’s experience of the Advent season.

You will find large-format illustrated calendars with windows that open to reveal scenes from nativity stories, winter landscapes, and fairy-tale settings. Artists represented include Bernadette Watts, Daniela Drescher, and other illustrators whose work appears throughout our Picture Books collection. Some calendars are designed for wall display, while others stand as three-dimensional dioramas. Several include accompanying story booklets that provide a short reading for each day. We also carry reusable wooden Advent calendar frames suited for families who fill each compartment with their own small gifts or verses.

These calendars pair naturally with our Christmas & Holiday Stories and Seasonal & Holiday Picture Books sections. Families, teachers, and gift-givers looking to bring meaning and beauty to the Advent season will find this selection at the Rudolf Steiner Bookstore thoughtfully assembled each year.
