Curative Education
Curative education books address the anthroposophical discipline of supporting individuals with developmental and learning disabilities through a holistic understanding of the human being. Rudolf Steiner delivered the founding lectures for curative education — collected as Education for Special Needs: The Curative Education Course — in Dornach in June 1924, just months before his final illness.
This collection features Karl König’s foundational texts, including his studies of constitutional types and his meditative approach to understanding disability. Works by Michaela Glöckler, Thomas Weihs (Children in Need of Special Care), and Robyn Brown provide both theoretical depth and practical therapeutic guidance. Topics range from sensory development and movement therapy to the spiritual biography of the individual with special needs.
These titles are essential reading for curative education practitioners, students at curative education training centers, and anyone working within anthroposophical therapeutic communities. For information about the Camphill residential community model, see the Camphill Community subcategory.
